Istituto Giannina Gaslini (IGG) is the largest public pediatric tertiary care and research hospital in Italy, dedicated to the comprehensive health care of infants, children and adolescents. Its nearly 400 beds accommodate nearly 18,000 hospitalizations per year (with 45% of all admissions from outlying regions, or from nearly 55 foreign countries), and its outpatient services perform upwards of 30,000 visits per year. Formally recognized by the Italian Health Ministry since 1959 as an IRCCS, the IGG hosts 29 clinical/surgical units (12 with associated laboratories), 8 independent experimental and translational research laboratories and well equipped core facilities.
IGG will participate as recruiting clinical centre in both GABA-1 (WP7) and GABA-2 (WP8) clinical trials. In addition to this, IGG will contribute to all the commonly shared activities of the GAPP project.
